NETSAFE is an acoustic system designed to protect salmon by deterring seals and sea lions from attacking fish farms. NETSAFE has embedded intelligence which controls sound levels and silences the system if non target species are present. When combined with our SECTORSAFE scanning sonar, the system can detect threats and activate the sound transmission to deter predators. This selective approach to sound output protects non target species, increases battery life and prevents habituation.

NETSAFE Acoustic Deterrent
ROS Technology Ltd is a long established electronic system design company. NETSAFE is part of our aquaculture range, drawing on many years of experience designing acoustic deterrents.
NETSAFE uses a proven acoustic deterrent method deployed worldwide and effective across Europe and South America against many species of seals and sea lions. The system is designed to be used in groups, permanently installed on the cages around the perimeter of the farm, and can be wirelessly controlled and monitored over the Internet.
The built in battery provides at least 8 hours of continuous operation, and more when the AI features are active. The entire system can be submerged to a depth of 100 metres, making it ideal for use on salmon traps, and the Power over Ethernet option keeps the unit communicating even when submerged.
